EMBRACE THE ESCAPE
With expansive prairie views on all sides, we boast large lots, an eclectic mix of Prairie Gothic and Scottish Tudor architectural design elements, and comfortable suburban living in a quiet rural setting. A growing list of amenities that include but are not limited to Muirfield Lakes GC, an 18-hole semi-private golf course, a Community Hall & Recreation Area, RV Lot, and above all, a welcoming and friendly community spirit...
We are a Homeowner’s Association (H.O.A) Community. Wheatland County provides road repair and maintenance services including snow removal in the winter, and enforce Traffic and Land Use bylaws. The H.O.A. manages and enforces our Architectural Controls, and contracts for services the County does not provide. The Property Management services include collecting our monthly HOA fee, weekly garbage/recycling pick-up, maintenance of amenities and common areas, street lighting, etc.
We’d love to hear from you, or better yet, visit us, play a round of golf and see this wonderful community yourself!
HISTORY
It’s Been Quite the Journey so far…
Conceived in the early 2000’s as a pre-tirement, retirement community for down-sizing empty-nesters who spent winters in warmer locales, The Lakes of Muirfield was originally designed to provide the same lifestyle snowbirds enjoyed down south when they returned to Canada each spring.
In February/March of 2005, the approved Entitlement Process allowed for the phased development of approximately 700 housing units, a small commercial component, and a resort style golf course on 350 acres of gently rolling farmland straddling the Western Irrigation District Canal between RR 264 and 265 east and west, Twp Rd 252 in the north, and the hamlet of Lyalta to the south.
Over the next two decades, this wonderful community has faced adversity, economic downturns, wastewater woes, and more, but with a more diverse and wider demographic than originally intended, the Lakes of Muirfield have not only survived, but thrived.
