Wheatland County is our municipal authority, responsible for enforcing building codes, Traffic Laws, the usual Land Use Bylaws, and maintaining our roads. The Lakes of Muirfield, like most modern communities maintains architectural controls to ensure our community is well maintained, safe and appealing. The Controls’ intent and vision is to promote a Welcoming Community. The Homeowners’ Association Board (HOA) manages, updates and enforces these Controls.

The Controls’ is a ‘living document’, which means the H.O.A. Board can amend the Controls based on the needs and availability of the resident’s styles, materials, and design advances over time. Download the most recent version of our Architectural Controls here.

Is a Request Form Required Every Time, Even for Projects That Follow the Controls?

Yes, please! There is no charge, and it is only to ensure the homeowner’s interpretation of what adheres coincides with the spirit of the deliberately broad Controls. Note: Even with HOA approval, your project may still require Wheatland County Permits. Please be sure the appropriate permits are submitted and approved before work begins.
