The Lakes of Muirfield’s CFEP Grant Application Has Been Approved!

In a letter from Honourable Tanya Fir, Minister of Alberta Arts, Culture and Status of Women, we have been informed our Community Facility Enhancement Program (CFEP) Large Grant Application to assist the Lakes of Muirfield Homeowners’ Association with Phase One of the expansion of the Lyalta Recreation and Green Space has been approved for $392,613.

The HOA wishes to express our heartfelt gratitude to Chantelle de Jonge, our Provincial MLA, and her staff, who worked tirelessly on our behalf, Scott Klassen, our Wheatland County Division 5 Councillor and Reeve, and County Staff for their complete support and valuable guidance, and to our own Vice President and Grant Requests Committee Chair, Marian Holmes who spent countless hours to craft our request.

Together with our own Amenity Reserves and the promised County Operations in-kind contributions, we expect to start Phase One once the ground thaws in the spring. Our Amenities-Recreation Committee in cooperation with the Lyalta Community Club is working hard on Development Permits, and we are in contact with a number of contractors for quotes.

As our efforts progress, we will keep you informed of what and where we are working next.

Lyalta Community Club AGM

We are hoping to post this prior to the weekend, and if we are successful, please don’t forget the Lyalta Community Club AGM at 6:30 PM on Sunday evening, January 25th at the Lyalta Community Centre.

Every Lakes of Muirfield resident is a member of the LCC, so make sure your voice is heard!

Welcome to Our New Director!

The Lakes of Muirfield HOA Board of Directors is pleased to welcome Suzanne Lavoie as our newest member. A resident of our wonderful community for five years, we’re looking forward to working with Suzanne.

We still have open positions, so anyone interested please reach out to .

Sidewalks & Snow

The recent plus-temperature respite is much appreciated, but as we all know, sadly a temporary pause. Winter will return, and with it, the white stuff. Please keep in mind, when snow does appear, County bylaws demand clearing it off the sidewalk in front of your property within 48 hours.

With our changeable weather, snow left to accumulate can turn to ice within a few hours, and none of us wants a pedestrian to be injured so your kind attention to this is greatly appreciated.

Warm Weather & Pets

Speaking of warmer temperatures, when the snow melts, dog owners should be aware the puppy pucks in their yard that were covered by a blanket of snow, are now visible and less than fragrant for neighbors. They are quite interesting to local predators like fox and coyotes, though, so please maintain as necessary.

Your consideration will be greatly appreciated.

That’s it for this month. Please stay warm, and if travelling south to escape the cold, safe journeys!

FAQs

Where do I obtain a copy of the bylaws?

The Lakes of Muirfield is under the authority of Wheatland County bylaws. They may be found here. For regulations outside the purview of Wheatland County, our Architectural Controls are in place and may be downloaded here.

HISTORY

Nearly two decades have passed since the approved Entitlement Process allowed for the phased development of more than 700 residences, a resort style golf course, and a small commercial component, north of the existing hamlet of Lyalta in 2005. In that time, the Lakes of Muirfield has faced more than it’s share of challenges, but we can now boast a vibrant, growing, and beautiful community that was well worth it. Want to learn more? AMENITIES

LCC RV Lot

A gravel parking lot, properly graded to provide excellent drainage, electronic card operated gate, video surveillance recording system and around the corner convenience are features hard to beat!

Lyalta Community Hall

The social heart of the area. The hall features a fully appointed commercial kitchen, stage, wet bar, dart boards, wooden dance floor, and room for 300. It’s the perfect venue for any event.

Muirfield Lakes Golf Club

A semi-private 6400-yard links style gem renowned for its fast, manicured (and tricky) greens.
